ABOUT SOJOURN ARTS
Sojourn Arts & Culture is a ministry of Sojourn Church Midtown. One of Sojourn Midtown’s core values is Creativity and the Arts. The first thing we learn about God in the Bible is that He created the universe and everything in it. God made all humans in His image, creative like God. Sojourn Arts & Culture seeks to equip people to utilize their creativity to honor God and benefit other people. To do this, Sojourn Arts & Culture helps artists to be fruitful in their work and encourages all people to cultivate beauty.
YOUR INTERNSHIP ROLE
Visual Arts Interns will assist the Sojourn Arts Director and the Sojourn Arts Assistant with visual arts and events in the church. This includes curating installations in the gallery and sanctuary at Sojourn Midtown, gallery receptions, book discussions, classes and workshops, murals, interactive community art projects, seasonal Sanctuary art and decorations, and more. Interns will also have significant time to work on personal art projects. Portfolio submission is required for this position.
DURING THIS INTERNSHIP, YOU WILL:
- Assist with exhibit installation and de-installation
- Assist with creative lecture series
- Engage the church community
- Co-plan participatory art projects for the city and community
- Create your own personal artwork
- Assist with miscellaneous administrative tasks
• Year Long Interns will assist in liturgical art planning and installation.
• Year Long Interns may assist with art projects at area nonprofits.
• Year Long Interns will curate an exhibit that will run 6-8 weeks at the church.

LTN is a full-immersion urban missions experience. In addition to serving 20-30 hours a week with a nonprofit, missionaries will also spend time doing neighborhood outreach as well as investing in their own personal development and growth.
