ABOUT SOJOURN MIDTOWN
Sojourn Church Midtown started in 2000, engaging the people of their urban neighborhoods with the gospel of Jesus Christ. They care about the souls of men and women first, but also physical needs, music, the arts, and community life. Since 2012, Sojourn Church Midtown has been located in the Shelby Park neighborhood, which is a diverse and urban neighborhood in the most impoverished zip code of Louisville. The church has a conviction and a vision to be a place where all residents of Shelby Park feel loved and welcome, and since moving to Shelby Park, church leaders have been shepherding their members towards gospel reconciliation and discipleship across all cultural lines.
YOUR INTERNSHIP ROLE
SUMMER INTERNSHIP WITH Sojourn Kids! As a part of this internship, you will help plan VBS and other kids programming, build relationships with children and families being served by Midtown, and assist the Children’s Ministry Director with various tasks throughout the week.
YEAR LONG INTERNSHIP WITH Sojourn Midtown’s Outreach Ministry Assist the Outreach Pastor and deacons with empowering congregants to do mercy, justice, and evangelism in their neighborhoods. Minister to congregants and neighbors who have benevolence needs. Help facilitate monthly outreach service projects. Aid in the coordination of Sojourn outreach events (i.e. fall festival, medical clinic, Christmas store).
DURING THIS INTERNSHIP, YOU WILL:
- Summer Interns will help plan and execute VBS
- Summer Interns will assist the Children’s Ministry Director with weekly kids programming
- Year Long Interns will help plan and facilitate service projects in the neighborhood
- Year Long Interns will aid in coordination of numerous outreach events
THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF:
- You have campus leadership experience
- You have a desire to do church ministry work in the future
- SUMMER INTERNSHIP: You have a love for children and children’s ministry
- YEAR LONG INTERNSHIP: You are interested in pastoral ministry, mercy ministry, and/or outreach ministry

WHAT ELSE WILL I EXPERIENCE BY SERVING WITH LTN?
LTN is a full-immersion urban missions experience. In addition to serving 20-30 hours a week with a nonprofit, missionaries will also spend time doing neighborhood outreach as well as investing in their own personal development and growth.
