ABOUT SOJOURN CARLISLE
Sojourn Carlisle is a church devoted to serving its neighborhood in South Louisville. Launched in 2019, Sojourn Carlisle is a new church, but one that already has deep roots. They are rooted in their community, committed to doing good works in the South End of Louisville and beyond. They are also rooted in history, building on the legacy of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. Above all, they are rooted in the gospel.
YOUR INTERNSHIP ROLE
This church ministry internship at Sojourn Carlisle will give interns a chance to be involved in the day-to-day ministry tasks of the local church. There will be an opportunity to pick an area of focus, which will govern how much of the intern’s time is spent. The area of focus options are pastoral ministry, communication, and women’s ministry.
- Help with the planning and execution of summer VBS
- Help with planning and execution of summer basketball camps
- Seek to establish outreach opportunities for children in our neighborhood through the gym facility
- Aide in improving our process for benevolence requests
- For interns interested in pastoral ministry, communications (media & design), or women’s ministry, there is an opportunity to learn experientially by coming alongside a volunteer leader to lead and execute day-to-day ministry activities.
• Year Long Interns will seek to establish outreach opportunities for children in the neighborhood through the gym facility
• Year Long Interns will work with existing gym partners to continue to impact our neighborhood
• Year Long Interns will develop systems and process for gym rentals in our community
• Year Long Interns will engage in regular community outreach
THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU IF:
- You are interested in church ministry, especially at a smaller neighborhood church or a church plant
- You are studying communication or social media and want to serve in a way that uses those skills
- You are highly flexible and are able to take ideas and run with them

WHAT ELSE WILL I EXPERIENCE BY SERVING WITH LTN?
LTN is a full-immersion urban missions experience. In addition to serving 20-30 hours a week with a nonprofit, missionaries will also spend time doing neighborhood outreach as well as investing in their own personal development and growth.
