WHAT IS THE NEED?
As a part of your time with Love Thy Neighborhood, spend 20-30 hours per week doing an internship with Scarlet Hope, serving vulnerable women in the community. Scarlet Hope exists to share the hope and love of Jesus with women impacted by the adult entertainment industry. Scarlet Hope serves women through two specific programs: The Outreach Program and the Career Development Program.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Scarlet Hope’s Outreach Program exists to engage exploited women by sharing the gospel, creating community, and empowering women to stabilize and heal. The Outreach Program serves women actively in the sex industry through Strip Club Outreach, Text Outreach, Hope for Her and through their Resource Center. An internship with the Outreach Program would involve planning and executing weekly outreach as well as helping with Scarlet Hope’s On-The-Job Training Program. This work will often require active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills along with efficient administrative skills.
Scarlet Hope’s Career Development Program is a life and job skills program that exists to offer women impacted by the Adult Entertainment Industry the opportunity to experience the life changing love and grace of Jesus, increase their emotional, physical, educational, spiritual, and financial stability, and gain the life and job skills training necessary to function and retain meaningful employment. An internship with the Career Development Program would involve assisting with case management efforts for all guests and clients and helping with the day to day operations of the Career Development Program. This position is highly relational, and requires the intern to work directly with all staff and volunteers, as well as women who are active participants in the Career Development Program.
The Scarlet Hope Case Management model is trauma informed, client centered, strengths based, goal oriented, outcome based and offers unconditional regard and care to the vulnerable women served.
Scarlet Hope is very intentional about creating a trauma-informed setting where women can stabilize and heal and grow. This is evidenced by our intentionally calm and beautiful environment, regular staff training to assist all staff with understanding the impact of early trauma on the life span, and professional case management and counseling services to promote healing and overall stabilization.
