Traditionally, many organizations either emphasize evangelism OR social justice – the spiritual OR the physical. LTN believes that Jesus embodied a perfect marriage of word AND deed. With LTN, you will not have to choose which of these commandments you will respond to. You will respond to both. You will love people – and that inherently means that you will love them in both word and deed, caring for their physical and spiritual needs.

We are located in the beautiful city of Louisville, KY. Wanna learn more about this city? Check this out!
All applicants have the opportunity to share their top 3 service site preferences during the admissions process. Our staff then places Team Members based on their preferences, skill assessments, needs of our Service Site Partners, team formation and dynamics. Lots of prayer goes into this decision.

Our Team Members are taught through a variety of sources including: LTN’s 80 page handbook, training specifically related to your Service Site, Safety and Street Smart training, one week of orientation, bi-weekly training sessions all year long and ongoing support from your Team Captain, Alumni, a mentor, your church and LTN staff.
Love Thy Neighborhood has several terms available. We accept applications on a rolling basis. See specific service dates here.
For our full year Team Members, you can either stay on your current health insurance plan or sign-up to be on Medicaid health insurance. Health insurance is not available through LTN for  Team Members. However, all Team Members are required to have health insurance.
Yes! We host a “Come and See” weekend at various times through out the year. We encourage you to come and see what the Love Thy Neighborhood experience looks like, meet Team Members currently involved in the program, tour some nonprofits we work with and enjoy a time with the Executive Director.

If those times don’t work for you to visit please contact us and we can set-up an alternative time for you to visit. You can contact our Recruitment Manager, Sam Stevenson.

LTN Team Members are provided with a significant amount of time away and flexibility. Here’s how our time off breaks down: Summer Team Members are provided with 3 floating days off that they may use as desired. Full Year Team Members are provided with 7 floating days off that they may use as desired as well as 12 days away around Christmas. (In addition, Team Members take part in various retreats away from the city.)

Team Members raise $9,900 for the year and $3,300 for the summer. Every LTN Team Member is guided step by step through the fundraising process – making raising funds achievable even for a fundraising novice. Our staff provides a fundraising guide, ideas, resources, and encouragement for this process, walking with you from start to finish. Teams work together to raise enough funds to meet all needs collectively. Team Members do not have additional financial responsibilities during the year. Donations cover housing, utilities, groceries, transportation within the city, curriculum, program expenses and a monthly stipend.
At this time we are able to accept applicants from Canada and the US. And accept applicants from other countries under select circumstances. Please contact us for additional information and steps if you are applying from outside North America.
